Ara Vartanian x Muzo Collaboration
Brazilian jewelry designer, Ara Vartanian is partnering with Muzo Emerald Colombia on their designer collaboration program – the first in an ongoing series of partnerships created to bring industry and consumer awareness to Colombian emeralds.
The company has invited Ara Vartanian, as one of the exclusive group of 25 designers, to create a capsule collection of pieces that speaks to their brand DNA while celebrating the beauty and rarity of Muzo emeralds.
The Muzo Designer Collection was revealed at a private event on December 5th in New York City. “While the Muzo journey starts at the mine, it isn’t until the gemstone becomes a piece of jewelry that it truly comes to life. This collaboration has demonstrated the incredible imagination and artistry that today’s contemporary jewelry designers possess”.
Ara Vartanian has created four exclusive emerald pieces for the capsule collection. He includes his iconic ‘Octopus’ ring, a 18k white gold double finger ring with emeralds (35.18ct.), black (0.62ct) and white diamonds (0.68ct). This two-finger ring design was developed with the use of innovative jewelry settings. In addition, a 18k white gold ring with emerald (8.79ct) and a 18k white gold ring with emerald (5.68ct.) and white diamonds (5.71ct). Vartanian always uses the gemstone as the main source of inspiration for his designs, creating structure around the stone. Finally, he incorporated the new ‘Mobile Earring’ from his latest collection, this piece was inspired by the movement of hanging mobiles and the symmetry of Orthodox church architecture.
