How To Spend It Magazine
Invited by the renowned magazine How To Spend It, publication edited by the respected Financial Times newspaper, Ara was photographed in one of his favourite places in town for the magazine’s cover, Ibirapuera Park, which counts with projects by architect Oscar Niemeyer and landscape architect Burle Marx.
Ara had the opportunity to tell a little bit of what he makes on his free time on weekends, when he is not at his Atelier creating new pieces of jewellery. One of the places mentioned by the designer, besides walking by Ibirapuera Park (picture illustrating the cover of the magazine, in front of the Auditorium that is part of the park), is the Bexiga street fair, on Sundays, to search for vintage pieces of furniture and decoration articles.
Other places recommended by Ara to the publication are: the record store Locomotiva, the Luciana Brito Art Gallery – located on an old house projected by architect Rino Levi, which also counts with amazing work from the contemporary artist Tiago Tebet. To try a little from the countless possibilities the city of São Paulo has to offer, within the theme Brazilian cuisine, Ara indicates the awarded restaurant Dom, from the chef and personal friend Alex Atala. For drinks and the best “coxinha” appetizer in town, Ara’s favourite is Bar Numero – projected by architect Isay Weinfeld, and also restaurants Shin Zushi and Spot.
