In Vogue Brasil’s last January issue, Ara was again invited by the fashion publication – one of the most respected in the world – to tell a little about his trajectory in the last 2 years. The piece broaches mainly the internationalization of the brand and its growing recognition confirmed each time by celebrities and opinion makers.
With presence stronger and stronger in the international scenery, not only in high jewellery but also fashion, music and arts, the designer has been changing his routine and adapting to new demands, such as creating not only in his Atelier but on the plane as well, since he visits his store in London almost monthly. The new routine is not by any means an obstacle, because it also brings good opportunities, such as meeting new clients like Liv Tyler and Sienna Miller. Besides that, by becoming more familiar with the city, he has been sought out by important newspapers and magazines, which was the case with The Telegraph – like at the time of the launch of his collection with model and friend Kate Moss – and, more recently, he made the cover of How to Spend It magazine, where he told the publication about his day-to-day in São Paulo and revealed tips of the places he likes visiting the most in town. Another positive made possible by this new routine, is being able to explore his imagination, bringing new vision and inspirations that might influence and help in creating his new pieces, like the Chandelier Earrings, which will be launched soon.
It was from his new collection, with Kate, that the designer began exploring new shapes, designs and materials, creating pieces that are more casual using threads and leather in his jewellery, for example. One of his latest launches, a Ring that has been nicknamed “Cat Ring”, brings this versatility in a clear way, balancing main aspects of Ara’s work: comfort, design and multiple ways to wear the same piece.
