The world of automobiles is one of Ara’s passions, and in the Biela collection he was able to combine the mechanical strength of the car with the delicateness of jewelry, in harmony. “I never pick up a book on mechanics or open the hood of a car for inspiration. The idea comes to me in a genuine way,” says the jeweler. Biela is the Portuguese word for connecting rod, the part of an engine responsible for transforming alternative linear movement into continuous circular motion.
